This time I didn't add any colour to the varnish, but I did thin it out. It went on very quickly and smoothly, with only some very minor dribbles. I caught almost all of them, except for a very minor one near a peg hole which will easily polish out. This is the last coat of varnish. The colour is quite dark, and little of the character of the wood shows through. I hung the instrument on the clothesline for a full day, which hardened the varnish quite a bit. One more day of drying in the sun and breezes should be enough so I can do the final polishing by the weekend.
