The violin has now been sitting for three weeks. Today Jayne and I went to Waterloo so she could
play it. After a fairly minor retuning, she played several Bach and Celtic pieces. To my ear,
the instrument sounds more tentative and not as robust from a distance. However, when I played
scales on it again myself later, it sounded quite full and balanced. Perhaps it's a matter of
distance and perspective.
There are no pictures of this first playing by its
ultimate owner. Jayne declined to let me take pictures as she was playing her instrument.
