My annual holiday starts tomorrow, and since I'm not as far along on these fiddles as I would like, I'm taking some work with me. However, my shop has the tools I need for most of the work, so I spent this afternoon roughing out the scroll for Ashley's fiddle. I can do the detailed work anywhere. I have packed a small box with both necks, my fine tools, lots of sandpaper, and the required templates. So on those inevitable rainy days when it's uncomfortable or unsafe to be in the kayaks, I will do a bit of woodworking.
