This time I only did the 400 and 600 grit sanding. The resulting finish was very smooth, so I
didn't bother with the polishing.
I added quite a bit of red pigment to the
varnish, and also thinned it considerably. As a result it went on very smoothly and
consistently. I managed to avoid any dry edges and dribbles.
