Ashley chose a small Viola template. Her arms are fairly long and she has always found a regular
fiddle to be too short. So in addition to being an unusual colour, this instrument will also be
larger than usual.
I resanded the ribs to final thickness and dimensioned the
willow blocks. Getting the blocks just right proved to be tedious and inaccurate. In future I
will build a jig to thickness sand them in bulk, then cut them to size.
